GARDAI are investigating the death of a woman, whose body was discovered in her apartment in Cork City tonight.
The woman, aged in her 50s, had not been seen for a few days and concerns about her safety were raised to gardai.
Cops discovered the deceased woman lying on the floor of the apartment in the Curraheen-Bishhopstown area in the city.
Gardai sealed off the apartment and will conduct a full examination of the scene tomorrow.

Gardai have called in the services of the State Pathologist and she is expected to visit the scene before the body is removed and taken to the morgue in Cork University Hospital.
The Cork City coroner has also been informed.
Gardai say the course their investigation will take will be determined by the results of the postmortem examination.
