RTE star Sinead Kennedy has just joined the Today team as she is set to take over from Maura Derrane.
Maura will be taking a “step back” from the popular chat show to spend more time with her family.
Sinead will be presenting the show on Monday and Tuesday every week while Maura will return on Wednesday until Friday.
But who is Sinead Kennedy and what has she done before this?
Here’s everything you need to know.
WHO IS SINEAD KENNEDY?
Sinead was born in Ballincollig in Co Cork in September 14, 1982.
She is 37 years old and she has had a very colourful career on RTE throughout the years.
While she is known for presenting many shows on the broadcasting station she also has a Bachelor of Arts Degree, Honours, in Psychology and studied for a Higher Diploma in Criminal Psychology in University College Cork.
She is also currently studying for a Masters in Mental Health Science.
HOW DID HER CAREER START?
The RTE star began her career after she was chosen by the station in a nationwide talent search to become a presenter on Sattitude- their hit Saturday Morning show.
Since then she has spent 15 years working with the station and has spent that time working with children and animals on live young people’s programmes.
Sinead is most notably known for presenting the prime time RTE One entertainment series Winning Streak along side arty Whelan.
However, she has also been part of Getaways on BBC Northern Ireland where she and co-presenter Joe Lindsay headed to the Bulgarian mountains.
Recently she produced This Is Me which was a fantastic documentary about the late Laura Brennan’s battle with cancer and her campaign work around the HPV vaccine.
She also presenter RTE’s summer chat show Summer At Seven alongside Kevin McGahern.
IS SHE MARRIED AND DOES SHE HAVE CHILDREN?
Sinead got married to her now-husband Conor Kirwan, who is a naval officer, in a gorgeous ceremony at Dromquinna Manor in Kenmare, co. Kerry in 2014.
The pair were together for eight years before they decided to tie the knot.
They had a very unique honeymoon as they decided to take a trip to Central America to do some backpacking.

Sinead and Conor don’t have any kids yet but she previously said that they would love to have some in the future.
She spoke with RSVP in the past and said: “We would love kids and we would hope that it’s in our future.
“It’s something we talk about, it’s something we want and absolutely I hope it happens.”
