Virgin Media pays tribute to Gogglebox star John Paul Healy following his passing

VIRGIN Media have paid tribute to Gogglebox star John Paul Healy who sadly passed away earlier this week.

John appeared in the hit series during the first two seasons and was part of ‘The Two Pauls’ and was a fan favourite.

The broadcasting station took to their Twitter today to pay tribute to John following his passing.

They shared a snap of him and his co-star Paul Roche from their time on the series.

The station said in the post: “VMTV are saddened to hear of the passing of former #GoggleboxIRL favourite (John) Paul Healy (Pictured on the right).

“One part of ‘The Two Paul’s’, Paul was a fantastic member of the cast through Series 1 & 2.

‘SAD TIME’

“Our condolences are with Paul’s family and friends at this sad time.”

Fans of the series flooded their comment section with tributes to John as well.

Sinead said: “Aw very sad. May he rest in peace.”

Trish commented: “Aww this is such sad news, he was a lovely man, may he rest in peace.”

While Liz wrote: “#GoggleboxIRL RIP John Paul Healy @VirginMediaIE.”

Former Gogglebox star Sheila Naughton also paid tribute to him on Twitter.

In her tweet, she said: “Learned yesterday that a Fellow #GoggleboxIRL member had passed away.

“Paul from Youghal of the two Pauls.

“A few years ago when we left the show my Dad got to meet him and thoroughly enjoyed his company.

“Solas na bhflaitheas go raibh air.”

Neal Tully also tweeted saying: “Very sad to hear of the passing of Paul the first goggleboxer to pass away may he rest in peace.”

A notice of Paul’s death was also posted on RIP.ie and it said that John passed away peacefully at his home.

It also said that he passed away on Tuesday December 15 of this week.

The notice said: “Peacefully at his residence, John Paul Healy.

“Sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his relatives, neighbours and his many friends particularly in the Arts, Culture and Entertainment industry.

“May John Paul Rest In Peace

“In accordance with current Government restrictions on public gatherings, John Paul’s Funeral will take place privately.”
