TWO people have been arrested after €100,000 worth of suspected cannabis was seized at a Garda checkpoint last night.
Gardai were conducting a checkpoint in Gorey, Co Wexford last night when they stopped a car.
The vehicle was searched and €100,000 worth of suspected cannabis was discovered.
Two people were arrested in relation to the incident and investigations are ongoing.
In a separate incident, €12,150 worth of suspected cocaine, cannabis and cash was seized following an operation by the City Centre Policing Unit in Cork City.
A spokesman said: “Gardaí were conducting a checkpoint in Gorey, Co. Wexford last night when they stopped a car.
“A search of the vehicle resulted in the discovery of €100,000 worth of suspected cannabis.
“Two people were arrested. Investigations are ongoing.
In a separate incident: “€12,150 of suspected cocaine, suspected cannabis and cash seized following an operation by the City Centre Policing Unit in Cork City on September 15, 2020.”
