Six sustainable Cork businesses have been shortlisted for a €50k design prize

Six Cork businesses are among 40 shortlistees in this year’s Irish Business Design Challenge, which focuses on sustainable design solutions and innovation.

Now in its third year, the competition supports companies applying design thinking to future-proof their business and support customer needs, with winners taking home €15,000 each.

Twelve businesses have been shortlisted from Munster, six of which are based in Cork:

  • Firkail
  • GROUND Wellbeing
  • HaPPE Earth
  • Mamukko Ltd
  • ReproDoc Ltd
  • YAWUW

“Innovation and ingenuity in design have always solved problems in businesses.” said Tom Watts, Head of Design at Design & Crafts Council Ireland.

“It has been great to see so many businesses use design thinking to solve issues surrounding the environment, making their businesses more sustainable and efficient while prioritising customer needs.

“These awards showcase the most innovative and efficient MSMEs in Ireland and it has been a pleasure to highlight the shortlisted companies that have achieved this.”

The winners will be announced at the IBDC Awards on Thursday, April 13th.
