In the snaps she shared, Cathal is smiling as he sits beside his delicious cake and in the other one, he is sitting on a bike.

The TV star explained that they were in Cork to celebrate with their family and they are heading to Galway to visit even more family.

Sile captioned the sweet post saying: “Our lil man turned 3 today and we had a wonderful time in Cork with family.

“I wasn’t on my phone much as I wanted to be present with family and it was brilliant.

“Birthday celebrations are in full swing this weekend and we’re loving every second of it.
Next up Galway!

“I’m too tired to write any more now but I’m going off to sleep feeling like the luckiest woman in the world.”

Fans and friends of Sile flooded her Instagram comment section with love for the post as they wished her son a happy birthday as well.

Her follower Sinead commented saying: “Ah happy birthday little man!! Hope you all had the most wonderful day.”

Susan gushed: “His little face at his cake. Enjoy every moment.”

Geraldine said: “Happy birthday little man.”

While Siobhan also commented saying: “Happy birthday Cathal have a great weekend you gorgeous boy.”

This comes after Sile recently revealed that she wanted to study law when she finished her Leaving Certificate.

The mum-of-one told how she put the course down on her CAO at the time.

However she explained that “life had another plan”.

She said: “You know when you’re filling out your CAO and you don’t really know what you want to do.

“Had I been more in tune at the time I would’ve, ‘OK what do I really like?’. I loved drama, I loved singing in the choir so everything I enjoyed was performance led.

“Even though I would never call myself an extrovert, I’m kind of that middle ground.”

She added: “I put law down on the CAO and I think it was probably because my favourite TV show at the time was Ally McBeal.

“So I wanted to be Ally McBeal. It was just a pure example of not having a clue and I thought this is what I wanted to do.

“Then life had another plan for me and I got called for an audition in Dublin to present a movie review show, it was called Hollywood Anocht, it was on TG4 and I used to fly to London once a month to interview big name actors and directors.”
