But if you can’t afford to fare to New York this summer, one of the city’s best bars is coming to Cork for one night only.
Recognised as one of the best bars worldwide (they were literally crowned Best Bar in the World in 2016), Dead Rabbit is taking over the bar at Cask on MacCurtain Street on Tuesday, June 18th, 7pm to 10pm.
This isn’t your typical pub. The Dead Rabbit, a two-story party haven established in 2013 on Water Street, wears its illustrious past on its sleeve. Named after a notorious 19th-century Irish street gang, the bar meticulously recreates the drinking dens of New York’s vibrant immigrant past. The ground-floor taproom is a lively pub, perfect for a post-work pint of Guinness, a frothy Irish coffee or one of their potent house cocktails.
“We decided the Dublin portal was too embarrassing so we created our own.” Team Cask announced on social media.
Bar director of The Dead Rabbit, Ian Alexander will be serving a range of cocktails by The Dead Rabbit using local Cork ingredients, which Cask is known for.
Signature cocktails will be available on Tuesday night, including the Irish Coffee Alexander with West Cork Irish Whiskey, Coffee Liqueur, Pedro Ximenez Sherry, Cacao, Cassis, Five Farms Cream Float, the Masa Masa with Maharani Irish Gin, Red Corn Atole, Chai, Sumac, Lemon and the Hotmail with Copeland Rums, Almond, Curaçao, Lime.
“We can’t wait to welcome The Dead Rabbit to Cork City.” Cask’s managing partner Andy Ferreira told us.
“It’s exciting for our guests to taste some of their cocktails and experience firsthand their world-renowned hospitality.”
