A MAN has been arrested after Gardai seized over €80,000 worth of drugs and €20,000 cash in Co Cork yesterday.
The raid was part of an intelligence led operation targeting the sale and supply of controlled drugs in Cork city.
Gardai discovered €70,000 worth of cannabis herb and €10,000 worth of cocaine and approximately €22,000 in cash during the raid.
The operation happened at approximately 3pm yesterday afternoon.
Gardai led the operation with the help of Mallow District Drugs unit and Mayfield District Drug unit with the assistance of other units.
The teams searched a number of locations resulting in the seizure of cannabis herb with an estimated street value of €70,000, cocaine, with an estimated street value of €10,000 and cash in the amount of €22,000.
ARREST MADE
One man, 40-years-old, was arrested during the operation.
He was taken to Mallow Garda station where he is currently being detained.
Gardai revealed that investigations are ongoing.
Two men were recently charged after €300,000 worth of drugs and six handguns were seized.
They were arrested after gardai searched a property in Mullingar, Co Westmeath on Monday.
A woman, 40s, was also arrested in a follow-up search in Carberry, Co Kildare yesterday and is being detained at Mullingar Garda Station.
