A MAN aged in his 60s has been rushed to Cork University Hospital with a serious head injury.
He was first treated at Kerry University Hospital after an incident occurred outside the A&E entrance.
He has since been transferred to Cork University Hospital where he remains in serious condition.
The incident occurred at approximately 7pm last week, on Sunday November 7.
Gardai are conducting an investigation of the incident and are calling for witnesses in Tralee, especially anyone who was in the vicinity of the A&E entrance at the time, to come forward.
Elsewhere, a man suffered serious injuries after a horror assault in the early hours of yesterday morning.
The man, 40s, was attacked on Main Street in Portlaoise, Co Laois, between 3am and 3.30am on Saturday.
He was rushed to nearby Midland Regional Hospital before being transferred to St James’s Hospital in Dublin for further treatment.
He remains in hospital where his condition has been described as serious but stable.
