THE eldest son of celebrity chef Rachel Allen has been arrested once again for ‘driving while intoxicated’ after crashing a Range Rover worth around €60,000.
Joshua Allen, 20, was taken to a garda station in the early hours of yesterday morning near his home in the Shanagarry area of east Cork.
It is understood he was driving a 2020 Range Rover Evoque, valued at around €60,000, according to the Irish Daily Mail.
Gardai rushed to the scene of the single car crash at Shangarry South, Ballycotton, at around 3.25am yesterday.
There were no injuries reported and the driver was arrested for “driving while intoxicated”.
A spokesman said: “Gardaí attended following reports of a single vehicle collision at Shangarry South, Ballycotton at approximately 3.25am on 21/9/2020. There was no reports of any injuries.
RELEASED WITHOUT CHARGE
“Arising from the incident, a man (20s) was arrested for ‘driving while intoxicated’, he was taken to Midleton Garda Station and later released without charge. Investigations are ongoing.”
Just last week, Mr Allen was arrested for alleged drug driving.
He was on temporary release from Cork Prison after serving part of a 15-month sentence for drug dealing and possession.
But he was stopped by Gardai at a checkpoint near Midleton, Co Cork, last week.
He was tested for drink or drug driving, as were many other motorists stopped at the checkpoint.
