Meanwhile, the devastated mum of a Cork man, who went missing in the US in 2017, has shared a heartbreaking message on his 30th birthday.

David O’Sullivan was 25-years-old when he left Ireland to undertake the Pacific Crest Trail but after months without contact, he sadly hasn’t been seen since.

She shared a message on a Facebook group dedicated to giving updates on David’s whereabouts and said: “We would like to thank everyone for their best wishes on David’s 30th birthday.

“The mass cards, flowers, texts, personal messages, candle lighting and visitors to our home were much appreciated.

“We continue to hope and pray that we will get answers this year. We have the most dedicated people in USA who are still searching for David. Please keep them in your thoughts and prayers.

“Looking for you always David. Love Mam Dad Niall and all who love and miss you everyday.”
