A GARDA member was injured last night after being dragged 30 metres by a speeding car during a drugs search.
The female officer, 30s, suffered a number of injuries following the incident at around 8pm in Baltimore, west Cork.
She was rushed to Bantry General Hospital but later transferred to Cork University Hospital where she is understood to being treated for serious leg injuries which have been described as non-life threatening.
Gardai had witnesses a suspected drug transaction between a man in a car and a pedestrian.
Cops attempted to speak to the driver of the car but he drove off and struck the officer.
A search of a property was carried out where €5,500 worth of cannabis was seized along with more than €3,000 in cash.
A man, 20s, was arrested at the scene.
A second man, 30s, was arrested in a follow-up operation in nearby in Skibbereen.

As part of that search, €600 worth of cannabis, €300 cash and a car was seized.
Both men are being detained at Bandon Garda Station.
The seized drugs will be sent to Forensic Science Ireland for analysis.
