Slí Eile Churchtown Christmas Market this Saturday 7 th December

The popular annual Christmas market will take place at Burton Park estate, Churchtown, north Cork this Saturday 7 th of December. Attracting people from all areas of Cork, this market includes a special visit by Santa and his hard working elves. Entry to the market is free, Santa has a cost of 10 euro per child, all funds raised will support the Slí Eile residential health recovery farm, based at the estate. While Santa spots are selling quick on Eventbrite and booking is essential for him, the market is definitely worth a visit in itself and will get the whole family in the festive spirit! The market will run from 10am until 3pm, visitors are encouraged to attend early!
The market will host arts & crafts stalls, a bakery stall selling festive treats, a deli which will sell award winning chesses and local produce, while organic produce straight from the Burton park estate farm will be available to buy. Mrs Claus and Elves will entertain children, while live musicians will add to the festive atmosphere! The market is supported by volunteers, local musicians and local entrepreneurs and the estate is just a short walk from the Churchtown village. Local traders get the opportunity to sell art works, crafts and food at the market, while volunteers get the opportunity to support a great cause.

Set in fifty acres, the estate is the home to the mental health charity Slí Eile. The Christmas market is an essential fundraiser which allows the charity to support people recovering from mental health issues. One in four people in Ireland will experience a mental health issue in their lifetime.
This unique market is suitable for all the family, while family dogs are allowed on leashes. Outdoor seating is provided in the courtyard, there is free parking on-site and the estate is easily accessed, located just a few kilometres off the Cork Limerick Road.

The Christmas market is an entertaining, low cost, family orientated event. Many regulars at the weekly Saturday market have made new friends through chats over a cuppa and a treat!
