AN elderly man died in a fire at his home early this morning.
Gardai and emergency services rushed to the scene in Arderrow, Co. Cork.
Firefighters were able to extinguish the blaze in minutes.
The man, aged in his 70s, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The home has been sealed off for a technical examination.
A garda spokeswoman said: “Gardai attended the scene of a fire in Arderrow, Co. Cork which occurred in the early hours of this morning, Thursday 11th February 2021.
“A male, aged in his 70s, was pronounced dead at the scene.
“His body remains at the scene as Gardaí conduct a technical examination.
“Investigations are ongoing.”
