TOP Irish chef Rachel Allen has paid tribute to her son Joshua as he celebrated his 21st birthday today.
Convicted drug dealer Joshua also marked the occasion by putting candles in a chicken fillet roll and wishing himself a happy birthday.
Celebrity cook Rachel shared two photos of her son with her 37,000 Instagram followers and wrote: “Happy 21st Birthday @joshuaall_en.”
Earlier this year, troubled Joshua was handed down a 30-month prison sentence – with half of it suspended – after pleading guilty to two drugs charges at Ballymaloe Cookery School in Shanagarry, Co Cork, on August 30 2018.
These charges included possession of cannabis for sale or supply to others where the amount of the drug exceeded €13,000.
Joshua – the eldest son of cookbook author and TV personality Rachel – had also pleaded guilty to possession of cocaine on the same occasion and to possession of cannabis on September 5 2018 in Ballinamona.
The 15 month sentence imposed by Judge Sean O’Donnabhain was backdated to November 8, 2019.
Last June he was given reviewable temporary release from prison after serving six months behind bars.
The young man ran into more trouble after being arrested for alleged drug-driving last August before crashing a luxury Range Rover in September.
He was stopped by gardai in August near Midleton and tested for drink or drug driving, as were many other motorists stopped at the checkpoint.
That test proved positive for the presence of drugs in his system.
He was arrested in accordance with protocol and taken to Midleton Garda Station where he was processed and later released without charge.
